When could Salah break the record for most FPL points in a season?

The Scout delves into the data to determine when Mohamed Salah (£13.8m) could break the record for most points in a Fantasy Premier League season.

Following Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Newcastle United, Salah sits on 291 points, which is already the third-highest score EVER over a whole season in Fantasy.

Only Luis Suarez and Salah himself have produced more points in a single campaign. Suarez racked up 295 points in the 2013/14 season while Salah hit a record 303 points in 2017/18.

Top 10 points totals in an FPL season
Player Season Points
Mohamed Salah 2017/18 303
Luis Suarez 2013/14 295
Mohamed Salah 2024/25 291
Frank Lampard 2009/10 284
Cristiano Ronaldo 2007/08 283

Frank Lampard 2004/05 269
Robin van Persie 2011/12 269
Mohamed Salah 2021/22 265

Salah is just 12 points away from equalling his record score – and it could happen in the next Gameweek, when the Reds host Southampton on Saturday 8 March.

The Egyptian scored 13 points against Saints earlier in the season, and a repeat performance would take him up to 304 points overall.

A further assessment of Liverpool’s schedule shows that FOUR of their next six league matches are at Anfield, with EvertonWest Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur also visiting in addition to Southampton.

A look at Salah’s displays against those four opponents earlier in 2024/25 indicates he is on course to SMASH his career-high score.

Salah delivered double-figure hauls against ALL of them.
